About Me

It all began with a visit to the office. Still a puppy, my two-legged assistant took me to the headquarters of the organization she worked for. I got my own badge, was assigned a desk to lie under, and started what became my passion: observing the nuances of human interaction and leadership behavior.

Relying on my infallible canine instincts, I soon started coaching some of the two-legged colleagues around me. My initial focus was on improving human’s Wellbeing and Mindfulness, evidenced by more than 5800 coaching hours spent with clients outdoors.

Over time, I expanded my portfolio and became the trusted adviser under the table top, a skilled listener and astute analyst of any problem my furless clients would share.

I have coached global teams of humans leading high-stakes projects, working through organizational transformation, and managing multi-million dollar accounts. I silently guided performance conversations, team meetings, and coaching sessions. An early adopter of MS Teams, I’ve used my unique facilitation style to raise engagement in hundreds of virtual conferences. This immersive experience has given me an unparalleled pawspective on how humans attempt to lead one another.

Given the abundance of human-centric leadership resources, I’ve decided to fill a crucial gap: guidance for canine leaders. My mission is to share paws-on advice for four-legged leaders, ultimately benefiting their human companions.

Behind every great human is an even greater dog.

My Philosophy

I firmly believe that leadership transcends breeds, species, and backgrounds. Whether you're a dazzling dachshund, playful poodle, a thriving terrier, or even a patient pony (yes, I’m that inclusive), my insights are tailored to enhance your natural leadership abilities. And to my two-legged readers: you're not just welcome here – you're essential to my mission of creating better understanding between species.

Every human deserves a better leader, and every dog has the potential to be that leader.

When I’m not coaching, I enjoy long walks in nature (unless it’s raining), digging holes, chasing squirrels, playing ball or lounging on the sofa. I also love swimming, and hanging out with my equine friends at the stable.

My Two-Legged Assistant

Heika’s family has a long-standing tradition of housing dachshunds. She discovered her love for our outstanding breed before she could even walk or talk. Growing up with various representatives of my fabulous breed, she has learned to appreciate our wisdom and trust our guidance.

A versatile member of my team, she keeps track of my appointments, manages my website, catering, and public relations (with a special focus on neighbors and owners of cats and ill-fenced properties). She also acts as thought partner and personal fitness coach.

In her spare time, Heika enjoys working in human-led organizations. Some of her attempts at influencing two-legged colleagues might, or might not have inspired some of my blog posts.
